Caravan Breakfast Ideas

Updated: Feb 6

Whether it’s a travel day or a lazy Sunday morning, here are some breakfast ideas for caravanners.

Lazy mornings:

  • Scrambled eggs & toast

  • Bacon & eggs (fried, scrambled etc) – can add hash browns, sausages, chopped veggies, toast or wraps, etc

  • French toast with berries (tinned or fresh) and maple syrup

  • Pancakes (the shaker ones are easy in the caravan) – top with fruit and maple syrup

  • Wraps folded into muffin tray with egg, diced ham, sliced mushrooms and cheese inside, done in the oven (or under grill if you don’t have an oven)

  • Frittata or omelette with leftover veggies mixed in

  • Croissants with ham and cheese (under grill)

  • Boiled eggs with soldier toast

  • English muffins with your choice of topping

  • Waffles (can buy premade ones from supermarkets) topped with fruit

  • Breakfast burritos

  • Poached eggs on sourdough

Quick getaways for travel days:

  • Cereal or muesli

  • Toast

  • Overnight oats – can top with fruit, nuts, seeds, spices, yoghurt etc

  • Chia pudding

  • Zucchini slice (made the day before and eaten cold or in the car)

  • Breakfast muffins (made the day before and eaten cold or in the car)

  • Snap lock bag omelettes – put 2 eggs and other ingredients (diced veggies, ham etc) into snap lock bag, seal, then use fingers to combine. Place in fridge overnight. In the morning, drop into pot of simmering water for a couple of minutes. Keep warm to eat in car out of bag by wrapping in tea towel or alfoil.

  • Pancakes (the shaker ones are easy in the caravan) – make piklet size ones the night before, put in fridge overnight, and eat cold the next morning

  • Egg & Bacon English muffins – if you have a microwave, make the night before, wrap in baking paper, then heat for 30 sec in the microwave the next morning

Do you have a microwave toasted sandwich maker? This can also make great breakfasts and if you are in a rush on a travel day, you can make the sandwiches the night before, store in the fridge, then microwave as you are packing up.
