Caravanning the Queensland coast from Brisbane to Cairns is one of the most popular road trips in Australia. This route travels through many famous tourist hubs, past too many stunning beaches to count, and incorporates Great Barrier Reef islands, National Parks, Australian history and wildlife. This is not a trip you want to rush, so this itinerary has been planned over a month to allow you to really enjoy the Queensland coastline!

This itinerary is an excellent first trip for the caravanning novice. It also makes an ideal section as part
of a longer trip, combined for example, with We Plan You Caravan Sydney to Brisbane – The Pacific
Coast
itinerary. The driving directions, accommodation options, timeframes, and things to see and do
listed in this itinerary are all our recommendations based on over 30-years of caravanning experience
– but it is ultimately your choice to decide what you do during your travels! Even though we have
recommended the number of days to stay in each place, you may decide to travel faster, or stay longer.

If you don’t have a caravan, motorhome, tent or similar – this itinerary could still be used as most of the
Accommodation Options listed also have holiday cabins!

This plan does not specifically cater toward travelling with pets, although our Accommodation Options do note when accommodation is pet friendly.
